29/10/19 First French edition, IPWMA 2019 brought together more than 130 academics and industrialsfrom 15 countries

IWPMA conference (International Workshop on Piezoelectric Materials and Applications in Actuators), sponsored by the Carnot Engineering Institute @ Lyon, took place in Lyon at Espace Tête d’Or from 1st to 4th October 2019.

First French edition, this conference brought together more than 130 participants from the academic and industrial world, coming from 15 countries from 4 continents (72.5% non-French participants), for a total of 44 hours of scientific and technical presentations and rich exchanges around piezoelectric materials and their applications.

Highlighting the links between academics and industry through presentations of people from the socio-economic world including the presence of a booth of Fuji Ceramics, this edition was also resolutely turned towards the younger generation (37.4% doctoral or post-doctoral students), with the joint organization of tutorials in the framework of the “Piezoelectrics, MEMS & Energy Harvesting” workshop of the European project ENHANCE (https://www.itn-enhance.com/) bringing together university actors and industrial.
