Objectives
The objective of the project is to perform research and provide innovative interdisciplinary solutions regarding the interaction between a fluid and a deformable porous wall, in view to developing an application to simulate industrial filtration processes. The scientific objectives are multifold:
The final aim of the project is to develop a new software application called OptPleat.
The software will provide enterprises with a tool for assisting the design of optimised components for industrial filters (for example, the optimisation of the number of pleats), and for searching for novel filtration solutions in the many cases in which the deformation of the filtration medium plays a crucial role.
